Anxiety, stress and MC teleconsult in Singapore
Stress and anxiety can affect sleep, concentration, appetite, work function and physical symptoms such as palpitations or chest tightness. A teleconsult can be a first step for non-emergency assessment, short-term medical leave when clinically appropriate, and referral planning. It is not suitable for crisis symptoms, self-harm risk, psychosis, severe substance withdrawal or medical emergencies.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get an MC for anxiety or stress in Singapore?
A doctor may issue an MC after assessing that anxiety or stress symptoms make you medically unfit for work or school. MCs are not guaranteed and repeated requests usually need a longer-term care plan.
Is teleconsult suitable for panic symptoms?
It can be suitable after symptoms have settled and there are no physical red flags. Chest pain, fainting, severe breathlessness, neurological symptoms or ongoing severe agitation need urgent in-person care.
What if I have self-harm thoughts?
Do not wait for a teleconsult. Call 995 or go to the nearest emergency department if you cannot stay safe. If there is immediate danger, ask someone nearby to stay with you while help is arranged.
Can an online doctor prescribe anxiety medication?
Sometimes, but new or complex psychiatric medication is handled cautiously and often needs in-person GP, psychologist or psychiatrist follow-up. The first priority is safety assessment and the right care pathway.
