How it works

Telemedicine still needs a proper clinical assessment

A safe telemedicine consult is not a questionnaire or an MC vending machine. The doctor reviews your symptoms, history, medications, allergies, red flags, and what can be assessed over video. If video care is not safe, you will be directed to a clinic or emergency department.

For patients searching for teleconsult Singapore or tele doctor Singapore services, the same safety rule applies: online care should include a real doctor assessment before MCs or medication are considered.

1. Register and queue

Join the live weekday queue and provide identity, symptoms, medication history, and delivery details.

2. Video consult

Meet an SMC-registered doctor in a secure video room. No app download is required for browser calls.

3. Pay after the consult

Payment is requested only after the doctor completes the consult or confirms the appropriate next step.

4. Receive follow-up

DigiMCs, receipts, prescriptions, and medication delivery are coordinated by the care team.

DigitalHealth.sg operates as a Singapore clinic under MOH licence R/23M1175/MDS/001/232 and keeps escalation pathways clear when in-person review is safer.

SMC-registered doctors

Consults are handled by Singapore Medical Council-registered doctors. Editorial pages are reviewed separately and do not replace live clinical care.

Telemedicine FAQs

Is telemedicine legal in Singapore?

Yes. Telemedicine is regulated in Singapore under the Healthcare Services Act when it is provided as outpatient medical care. Patients should use MOH-licensed providers and SMC-registered doctors.

What can telemedicine treat safely?

Telemedicine is suitable for many mild acute illnesses, selected skin and urinary symptoms, medication refills, chronic follow-ups, and MC assessment when a video review is clinically adequate.

When should I skip telemedicine?

Seek urgent in-person care for chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke-like symptoms, severe abdominal pain, uncontrolled bleeding, fainting, severe dehydration, pregnancy complications, or rapidly worsening symptoms.

Can telemedicine doctors issue MCs?

SMC-registered doctors can issue valid medical certificates after a proper clinical assessment. MCs are never guaranteed before assessment and are not sold as standalone products.
